Here we are at the Vancouver International Airport. Ten of us ready to go and our plane is already an hour late. Thanks to Christiana for supplying us with brand new wheelchair hats and pins. Minus ten degrees here tonight and it should be thirty or more by the time we arrive in Manila. We are looking forward to meeting Ador and his team on Saturday morning when we arrive. Thanks to our supporters in Campbell River especially the Daybreak and Noon Hour Rotary clubs for their support and commitment to this annual wheelchair program. Your support through the annual Dancing with Tapas and other donations makes this all possible. This year we have the Dancing With Tapas night scheduled for April 14th at North Island College. Our fantastic South American band Kumbia will be adding some South African tunes to their presentation this year. By attending the annual Musicfest at Shoal Bay you will become one of our supporters. If you like pizza and fun you are also welcome to join us at the Steiner's Summer Night Wine and Pizza Festival.
Bringing hope and mobilizing people.
This will be our fourth delivery of a container of 280 wheelchairs. The retail value of these donations is $225,000.00 per container. $900,000.00 worth of wheelchairs delivered so far and we are ready to go to Columbia next year with the next container already paid for. This year we are working on the sixth container for South Africa.
I like "Hope on Wheels" as a slogan and this posting is a great summary of our project. Bobbi needs a good first photo and then it can go out as a press release, offering the link to this blog to the interested public! Cheers to all of you, have a successfull trip! Giorgio
